I'm Nisha. Kindergarten through 6th grade, at my home in Sammamish — indoors at the table, or out in the backyard gazebo when the weather is kind and the child would rather be outside. Games, books and whatever else makes the hard thing feel fun. Especially good with children who learn differently.

One child, one table, one hour.
Always one to one
Every session is your child and me, nobody else. No group to keep pace with and no waiting for a turn to ask the thing they didn't understand.
Kindergarten through 6th
Early reading, phonics, number sense and the elementary years. I take 7th graders too, when what they need is a good match for what I do well.
Indoors or in the gazebo
We work at the table most days. When the weather allows and the child wants to, we move out to the gazebo in the back garden instead.
Learning differences
Students learn differently.
Some of the children I work with have special needs, including some with 504 plans. In a few cases I have helped a parent work out how to set one up.
Every child is different, and I will say so honestly if I think my way of teaching is not the right fit for yours. That conversation is easier to have early than late.

Where do sessions happen?
At my home in Sammamish. Indoors at the table most of the time, and out in the backyard gazebo when the weather allows and the child would rather be outside. I don't travel to students' homes.
What ages do you teach?
Kindergarten through 6th grade is the heart of it. I do take 7th graders when what they need matches what I am good at — write to me and we can work out whether that is the case.
Do you work with children who learn differently?
Yes, and many of my students do. Some are on 504 plans, some are not. I plan around how a particular child actually learns rather than around a label, and I am glad to talk with a teacher or specialist where that helps.
How do we start?
With a paid intro session — occasionally two or three — so I can get a feel for your child. After that I tell you what I have noticed, and we decide together whether it makes sense to carry on.
